It's fast approaching the time of year, when we reflect over the last 12 months. What was good or not so good. Happy and sad times. Busy and quiet days. Maybe even things we wished we had or hadn't done!
After reflecting, the resolve to do differently, in some way or another, begins to niggle away at us a little and the New Year's Resolutions start to evolve.
Maybe it's to stop smoking or drinking. Possibly you want to gain or lose a few pounds. Whatever it is, it'll be personal to you, but I'm sure hundreds of other people are thinking of doing the same.
In our coexistence with dog's, although we want to give our dogs choices, in reality, we often end up swapping their choice, for ours. Here's an example. A dog picks up the remote control and settles down to chew it. We don't want them to destroy it, so we offer them a dog friendly chew and swap. Success! we think, but is it truly a win?
Unfortunately it's a half win. We won, because the dog swapped, for something more appropriate, but what happens if we're not around when they settle down for a chew?
Make your New Year's Resolution, to teach your dog, not to touch items which aren't theirs, even when no-ones around to swap
